PURPOSE: To efficiently execute the logging printing control and to improve the performance of the whole system by setting a data group to be brought to logging printing as a segment, and executing the control so as to read out data obtained by adding '1' to its record number.

CONSTITUTION: A data group to be stored in an item in a data file is defined as a segment Tm, and by the number of data contained in this segmenht Tm, in accordance with the designated file name, item name, and record numbers 1 - 8, data is stored in a disk 4, and a data file fd is generated. Subsequently, a processor 1 transfers printing background information contained in a back ground file fb to a background information area 21 of a main storage 2. Next, with regard to the data stored as the segment Tm, the number 1 for logging is designated, and a first number is read out. Thereafter, the record number is brought to +1 successively, and a second and subsequent data are read out up to a record 8, and written successively in a data information area 22. The processor 1 reads out its data and outputs it to a printer 6.
