Title:
LONG GLASS FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITE BASE MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3333448
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composite base material high in glass content, reduced in the nap content on the outer periphery thereof, having flexibility, having large residual fiber length at a time of injection molding and capable of obtaining sufficient reinforcing effect.
SOLUTION: After one glass fiber strand obtained by bundling a plurality of glass monofilaments without applying splitting to the monofilaments is impregnated with a thermoplastic resin by a melt impregnation method, this one glass fiber strand is drawn out of one nozzle to be cut to obtain a composite base material wherein an average diameter is 1.0 mm or less, a length is 3-100 mm, glass content is 60-80 vol.%, a thermoplastic resin impregnation ratio is 95% or more and the buckling limit at a time of bending in a state before cutting is shown by a curvature R: R ≤30D×V (wherein D is an average diameter; V is glass content: vol.%/100; and the unit of R and D is mm).
