Abstract:
To provide a long-life cold rolling roll with which a steel sheet for cans having excellent surface properties can be manufactured.
In the long-life cold rolling roll the surface of which is irradiated with a laser beam and on which holes are formed at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction and the axial direction of the roll, the radius r and the depth d of the hole satisfy formula (1): 0.90r≤d≤1.20r (30 μm ≤r≤125 μm) and the circumferential edge of the hole is flat. Fig.1 shows the optical microscope image (magnification: 50) of the surface of the steel sheet for cans, which is rolled by a tandem cold rolling mill, and (a) shows the surface image when using the roll and (b) shows the surface image when using usual rolls.
