To provide a biding method and a binding device which densely bundles long materials with ease.
A long material binding method includes the step of suspending a bundle of a plurality of long materials, arranged in parallel to one another, with a linear body 18, and the step of binding the suspended bundle of long materials with a band. The method preferably includes the step of crossing both ends of the linear body 18, wrapping the bundle of the long materials, and suspending it. This method preferably includes the step of pressing the upper middle of the bundle of the long materials downward prior to the step of binding the bundle of the long materials with the band. The binding equipment 2 includes: a bundling section 4 for bundling a plurality of long materials; and a binding section 6 for binding the bundle of the long materials with a band. The bundling section 4 has: the linear body 18 for bundling and suspending a plurality of long materials arranged in parallel to one another; and arms 10 and 14 for suspending the bundle of the long materials with this linear body 18.
