PURPOSE: To shorten the overall length of a feeder where long cloth is draped in loop over many supporting bars then the supporting bars are moved to feed the cloth sequentially by constructing such that the interval between the supporting bars can be shortened on the carrying path.

CONSTITUTION: The cloth feeder suitable for cloth steamer is provided with a pair of endless carrying chains 3 to be rotary guided through sprockets 22, 26. The carrying chain 3 is made by coupling many link boards 31 through coupling pins 32, 32a where supporting bars 4 fixed rotatably with wheels 42 and draped with cloth are supported at the inner end of every two coupling pins 32. The wheels 42 are provided with correspondence to the upper carry path of the carrying chain 3 to be guided on a rail 51. While control sprockets 6, 61 are provided near the lower end of the upper carrying path of the carrying chain 3 and in the downstream of the sprocket 26 then rotated with low speed to shorten the interval between the supporting bars 4.
