PURPOSE: To obtain a long structure for a lightweight bamper beam having high strength so that the cross section formed by cutting the long structure along the plane vertical to a surface receiving bending load forms a closed space.
CONSTITUTION: A cross section formed by cutting a long structure along the plane vertical to a surface receiving bending load forms a closed space and the material forming the closed space is composed of a thermoplastic resin 1 containing 40-80wt.% of continuous fibers arranged in one direction. When the distance between a neutral axis having the cross-sectional shape forming the closed space and' the surface receiving load is set to E1 and the distance between the neutral axis and the surface opposite to the surface receiving bending load is set to E2 and the cross-sectional shape 20A is same to that of the each part of a structure, E2/E1 is set to 2.7-8.0 and when the cross-sectional shape 20A is different from that of each part of the structure, the average value of the max. and min. values of E2/E1 is set to 2.7-8.0. A thermoplastic resin foam 2 foamed in foaming magnification of 2-50 times is allowed to be present in the closed space and the thermoplastic resin 1 containing the continuous fibers and the foam 2 are integrated.
