Title:
LONG TERM STORAGE AND COST REDUCTION OF PULVERIZED UNHULLED RICE FOR FEED TO WHICH LACTIC ACID BACTERIA ARE ADDED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2022166792
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To solve problems that an amount of unhulled rice for feed given to domestic animals is almost 30% out of whole unhulled rice, and little nutrient is included in chaff, the chaff is formed of glass fiber and the domestic animals except for domestic fowls do not eat the chaff, cattle can eat the roughly crushed chaff however a pig cannot eat the roughly crushed chaff, for long term storage, a dedicated warehouse is required, therefore a price of the unhulled rice for feed becomes as expensive as foreign corn feed or more expensive than the foreign corn feed, therefore an animal husbandry farm hardly uses the unhulled rice for feed, and if pulverized with the unhulled rice, the chaff also can be used however, if an amount of the chaff increases, because of a large amount of fibers, nutrient is reduced and growth of domestic animals is delayed.SOLUTION: Lactic acid bacteria include a large amount of fiber relative to brown rice, therefore chaff is fermented easily, and pulverized chaff is further fermented and the chaff to which lactic acid bacteria are adhered, becomes feed which is also excellent in nutrient. The unhulled rice with lactic acid bacteria adhered thereto and pulverized is dried, then subjected to whole crop silage, the unhulled rice with lactic acid bacteria can be preserved in open-air, and cost for warehouse is not required thereby reducing significantly cost, in the method of the invention.
