Abstract:

To enable the use of a longitudinal direction measuring apparatus capable of being assembled into a guide rail of a linear guide unit so as to be especially easily replaceable and to save space.

The longitudinal direction measuring apparatus comprises both a scale (21) capable of scanning by a scanning head (22) and an assembly means (30) for detachably connecting the scale (21) to the guide rail (11) of a linear guide mountable to an assembly face (100) of a machine by a clamping face (14) as an independent component unit (10). In that case, the assembly means (30) is provided with contact faces (31 and 32) which vertically act in the longitudinal direction (X) of the guide rail (11) for aligning the scale (21) in parallel along the guide rail (1). The assembly means (30) is formed in the longitudinal measuring apparatus so as to grip the abutment surfaces (31 and 32) and to bring the abutment surfaces (31 and 32) into contact with reference faces (15 and 16) of the guide rail (1) outside the clamping face (14).
