PURPOSE: To eliminate twisting step which has been performed separately from a weaving step and to remarkably reduce the cost of weaving by placing a twister and a suction nozzle on a weft flying path at the downstream end of weft insertion by an ejection nozzle, thereby twisting the weft simultaneous to the weft insertion.

CONSTITUTION: A weft 3 having a definite length and stored in a pool drum 7 is inserted through opened warps with an ejection nozzle 4 and the tip end of the weft 3 is inserted through the yarn path of a twister 12 and the yarn path 10 of a suction nozzle 9 and held by sucking. At the same time, the weft 3 is fixed by a gripper 17, twisted with a twister 12 and woven by the next opening motion. At the weaving stage, cutters 18, 19 are operated to cut and separate the weft 3 and the phase is transferred to the next weft-insertion stage. The above cycle is successively repeated to form a woven fabric.
