To provide a loop type thermo-siphon which achieves heat transport efficiency higher than that of a conventional loop type thermo-siphon.
A loop type thermo-siphon 10 includes: an evaporator 11 which generates steam of a refrigerant; a heat exchanger 12 for condensing the steam of the refrigerant which is generated by the evaporator 11; a gas-liquid two-phase tube 13 which enables the evaporator 11 and the heat exchanger 12 to communicate with each other and through which the steam of the refrigerant flows; and a liquid tube 14 which enables the evaporator 11 and the heat exchanger 12 to communicate with each other and through which the refrigerant condensed in the heat exchanger 12 flows. Furthermore, the evaporator 11 includes: a heat transfer part 21 thermally connected with a heat source; and a cover part 22 which forms a space for enclosing the refrigerant with the heat transfer part 21. Hydrophobic treatment is performed on an inner surface of the cover part 22.
