Abstract:

To provide a looped heat pipe capable of maintaining cooling performance.SOLUTION: A looped heat pipe comprises an evaporator that changes the state of liquid-phase working fluid to vapor-phase working fluid, a condenser that changes the state of the vapor-phase working fluid to the liquid-phase working fluid, and a vapor pipe and a liquid pipe connected to the evaporator and the condenser, where stress due to compressive deformation of an elastic wick, which is housed in the evaporator in a compressively deformed state and forms a boundary part between the liquid-phase working fluid and the vapor-phase working fluid, is larger than pressure loss that occurs when the working fluid circulates from the vapor-phase side of the boundary part to the liquid-phase side of the boundary part via the condenser.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
