Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lost core type side extrusion molding method capable of deforming a hollow material more largely.
SOLUTION: The vacancy of a hollow molding material 1 is filled with a core material 2, which is plastically deformable and removable, to prepare a core-filled molding material 3. The core-filled material 3 is allowed to abut on a molding die 4 having an opening at a required position. While the core-filled material 3 is pressed from an end face to feed the core material 2 and the hollow molding material 1 to the position of the opening 5, the side face of the core-filled molding material 3 is bulged from the opening 5. Then, a portion of the hollow molding material 1 is pushed from the end part to extrude only the hollow molding material 1 from a space between the opening 5 and the already plastically deformed core material 2, is bulged and plastically deformed, thereafter the core material 2 in the vacancy is removed, thereby molding the hollow molding material 1.
