Title:
LOW-ALLOY STEEL WITH HYDROGEN RESISTANCE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE SERVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60177166
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a low-alloy steel with hydrogen resistance for high temp. and pressure service by alloying Fe with specified amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo an REM and/or Ca.

CONSTITUTION: The composition of a low-alloy steel with hydrogen resistance for high temp. and high pressure service is composed of, by weight, 0.05W0.25% C, 0.015W0.7% Si, 0.2W1.5% Mn, 0.5W3.5% Cr, 0.3W1.5% Mo, 0.01W0.1% REM and/or 0.001W0.01% Ca and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. It is necessary that the amounts of Si and REM in the composition are within the range defined by points A(0.015% Si, 0.01% REM), B(0.1% Si, 0.01% REM), C(0.7% Si, 0.03% REM), D(0.7% Si, 0.1% REM) and E(0.015% Si, 0.1% REM) in the diagram.
