Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an orthodontic appliance having an optimum contour lowest with respect to an individual tooth of a patient by providing a step producing a bracket to the dogtooth inclined by an angle of rotation negative with respect to a bracket base or the tooth adjacent to the dogtooth.
SOLUTION: A mathematical equation determining the shape of an arch wire curve 28 for the arch wire of a constant contour device is formed and the optimum interval, that is, the interval of the arch wire curve 28 from the surface of a tooth to which a bracket 30 must be attached is determined and the distance from the tooth to the arch wire is calculated. Further, in order to make the arch wire curve 28 easy to approach a dental arch form curve 16 while the arch wire constituted smoothly so as to avoid that rotatory power undesired with respect to a tooth acts in the vicinity of a small tooth is held, the bottom part of the arch wire slot within the bracket 30 is formed so as to form an angle RA of rotation with respect to the base of the bracket 30.
