To prevent the corrosion of a metallic surface due to a corrosive dew condensation water by applying a coating technique holding an air film under water.
When the coating layer is formed on a pipe line 1, the air film based on the coating layer is held on the inside wall surface of the pipe to repel the dew condensation water 4 of a corrosive gas 3 to bead if the dew condensation water 4 is generated and the inside wall surface is not wetted and the corrosion is not generated. Then, the coating layer holding the air film under water is previously applied on a part where dew point corrosion is easily generated. As a result, the corrosion is not generated on the coated part without wetting with the corrosive dew condensation water. The coating layer is particularly effective for a part such a gap where the corrosive gas is easily stayed and dewed and small in the flow of a gas or solid matter such as ash. As a result, the dew point corrosion preventing method effective for a long time, excellent in maintenance and low in cost is attained.
