PURPOSE: To provide an IR reflection interference filter which allows the transmission of a prescribed ratio of visible radiations and reflects the greater part of incident solar radiations.

CONSTITUTION: The filter in one preferable embodiment consists of a transparent substrate 2, an initially adhered dielectric layer 8, a next adhered metallic reflective layer 10 and a finally adhered outer protective dielectric layer 12. Further, the nuclear formation to facilitate the adhesion, i.e., adhesive layers are adhered to the boundaries between the respective metals and the dielectrics. The interference filter has durability and is changeable in order to impart a wide range of optical and electrical characteristics.
