Title:
LOW-FRICTION SLIDING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006138329
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a low-friction sliding mechanism, attaining compatibility between wear resistance and anti-seizure while reducing coefficient of friction of a sliding surface.

In this low-friction sliding mechanism, an amorphous hard carbon film is disposed on at least two or more sliding surfaces interposing lubricating oil in a space up to a counterpart member to form two or more sliding surfaces different in quantity of hydrogen contained in the amorphous hard carbon film. The mechanism is composed of a piston ring and a piston and/or a cylinder bore. An amorphous hard carbon film having a hydrogen content of 10% or less is disposed on the upper and lower surfaces of the piston ring and a ring groove of the piston. An amorphous hard carbon film having a hydrogen content of 20% or more is disposed on the side of the piston ring. The amorphous hard carbon film having a hydrogen content of 10% or less disposed on the upper and lower surfaces and the side of the piston ring are deposited by PVD method and CVD method, respectively.
