This low friction sliding member has complex diffusion nickel plating layer 2 containing at least one kind of particle or flake shaped oxide 3 of Y2O3, SiO2, Ta2O5, CeO2, MoO3 of total 5 to 40 volume percents on a surface of a base material 1 to improve a lipophilicity of a plating surface. A friction force at a sliding part, thereby, is greatly reduced.
