Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low friction slide member capable of reducing friction and wear which are caused between sliding surfaces, the sliding member being used in an internal combustion engine for a piston, a cylinder and the like sliding relatively under the presence of lubricant.SOLUTION: The low friction slide member is formed with a number of fine recesses on a sliding surface of at least one slide member of slide members for the internal combustion engine which relatively slide under the presence of lubricant, the fine recesses form second fine recesses whose widths and depths in the slide direction have smaller values than those of first fine recesses, on the sliding surface of the plurality of first fine recesses, and the second fine recesses are formed in a groove shape extended continuously on the sliding surface between the first fine recesses, characteristically.
