Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate thoroughly generation of pits and to improve resistance to generation of blowholes and welding workability by specifying the kind of the compounding components consitituting a coating material and setting the compounding ratios of the respective components in a specific range.

CONSTITUTION: A coating material contains 13W26wt% 1 kind of sum of MgCO3 and MnCO3, 10W22wt% SiO2, 9W25wt% TiO2 and 2W8wt% Al2O3. Said material satisfied the conditions 0.9≤ (0.5 TiO2+SiO2)/(MgCO3+MnCO2)≤2.1 and contains, in addition to the above, 1W5wt% 1 kind or sum of ≥2 kinds among FeO, Fe2O3, MnO and MnO2, 3.2W 5.5wt% 1 kind or sum of ≥2 kinds among mica, talc, kaolin, sericite and bentonite, 2W8wt% Mn and 10W55wt% iron powder. A binder is added to the coating material and is coated on a carbon steel core wire, by which the low-hydrogen type coated electrode is obtd.
