Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radial combination single pole N-throw microstrip switch suppressing an insertion loss at millimeter wave frequency.
SOLUTION: A microstrip switch 60 includes N-number of input switch arms 62-72 and one output port 74 formed at a microstrip transmission line. Each input switch arm includes at least one p-i-n diode 78. The input switch arms and the output ports are connected to a radial combination center patch 84. In order to suppress the insertion loss in the millimeter wave frequency, a center patch is made in air suspending state to reduce a parasite shunt capacity for expanding the low-pass frequency response of a switch.
