To provide a low-molecular-weight collagen peptide composition having skin barrier function improvement effect, and a method a for producing the same.SOLUTION: The present disclosure provides a method for producing a collagen peptide composition that comprises a peptide represented by Hyp-Gly or Gly-Pro-Ala of 70 mass% or more and has a molecular weight of 600 or less, the method including the steps of degrading collagen raw material with at least one microorganism-derived endopeptidase, and then, further degrading it with at least one microorganism-derived aminopeptidase.SELECTED DRAWING: None
