Abstract:
To provide an aqueous styrenic polymer dispersion free from disagreeable smell, a method for producing the low odor polymer dispersion and a low odor coating composition produced from the dispersion.
The polymer dispersion includes a small amount of acetoacetoxy or acetoacetamide functional group in a monomer or as a non-polymeric additive and contains an organic amine having high boiling point. The boiling point of the amine derivative is at least 150°C. The aqueous polymer dispersion is useful for preparing a low odor coating.
