PURPOSE: To provide a low pressure casting apparatus for Mg alloy in which molten metal can be supplied without exchanging a crucible and the productivity can remarkably be improved.
CONSTITUTION: In this apparatus, a casting machine holding furnace 7, a casting machine metallic mold 1 poured with the molten metal in the crucible 2 in the casting machine holding furnace through stroke 3 and arranged above the casting machine holding furnace, a melting furnace 10 for melting Mg alloy and a communicating tube 13 for connecting the molten metal in this melting furnace 10 to the molten metal in the casting machine holding furnace 7 are provided. Then the molten metal in the casting machine holding furnace 2 and the molten metal in the melting furnace 10 are mutually related and pressurized. By this method, the molten metal is fed into the casting machine metallic mold 1 and also, the molten metal from the melting furnace 10 is supplied in the crucible 2.
