Abstract:
To provide a low temperature cooling system which is excellent in energy efficiency by using a mechanical refrigeration machine.SOLUTION: A low temperature cooling system 100 has: a mechanical refrigeration machine 10 which has a low temperature end 14 to be frozen to temperature equal to or lower than liquid hydrogen temperature and a high temperature end 20 to be raised to temperature higher than that of the low temperature end 14; a cryostat 11 which is thermally connected with the low temperature end 14 and in which a low temperature operation device to operate at temperature lower than the liquid hydrogen temperature is accommodated; a liquid hydrogen accommodation container 22 which is thermally connected with the high temperature end 20, in which liquid hydrogen is accommodated, and which can cool the high temperature end by evaporative latent heat of the liquid hydrogen when a phase of the liquid hydrogen changes into hydrogen gas; and a hydrogen power generation part (fuel cell 25) which can be driven by using the hydrogen gas to be supplied from the liquid hydrogen accommodation container 22 through a pipeline 24 as a power source, and supply generated power to the mechanical refrigeration machine 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
