Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease composition which has stable characteristics in a wide temperature range of -40°C to 180°C, can suitably be used for the motor bearings of automobiles and airplanes, and has low torque under high load at low temperature.
SOLUTION: This low torque grease composition having a dynamic viscosity (40°C) of 40 to 150 mm2/sec comprises a base oil comprising (a) a linear perfuoropolyether oil represented by the general formula: RfO(OF2O)p(C2F4O)q(C3 F6O)rRf [Rf is a perfluoro-lower alkyl; (p), (q), and (r) are each an integer, provided that the sum of the integers is 25 to 45] and having kinematic viscosity (40°C) of ≤25 mm2/sec and (b) a linear perfluoropolyether oil represented by the general formula: RfO(CF2O)p(C2F4O)q(C3F6O)rRf [Rf is a perfluoro lower alkyl; (p), (q), and (r) are each an integer, provided that the sum of the integers is 100 to 200] and having a kinematic viscosity (40°C) of ≥250 mm2/sec, and (c) polytetrafluoroethylene thickener.
