Title:
LOW-VOC ULTRAHIGH SOLID MATTER THERMOSETTING COATING COMPOSITION AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10338836
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a low-volatile-organic-component ultrahigh solid matter thermosetting composition having desired coating properties, low viscosity and a prolonged pot life and being capable of forming a self-recovering durable coating film on various substrates by including a polymer component containing a specified amount of a polymer having a specified molecular weight.

This composition comprises 5-45 wt.%, based on the total weight of the solid matter of the polymer component, polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a monomer containing at least one active hydrogen atom in the presence of a reactive diluent and having a GPC weight-average molecular weight of 3,000-12,000 and a reactive diluent having at least one reactive hydrogen functional group. This composition contains separately stored crosslinking component having 1.0-1.4 equivalents, per eq. of the polymer and the active hydrogen atoms of the reactive diluent, and it is mixed before use.
