To simplify control by determining the turning direction of a vehicle on the basis of the detection value from a lateral G sensor, comparing rotational speeds of driving wheels on the inside and on the outside of the turning direction to each other on the basis of the detection values from rotational speed sensors, and deciding connecting force for a clutch of a limited slip differential gear on the basis of a turning difference between the driving wheels.
A driving force from an engine 1 is distributed by means of a differential mechanism 4, and a differential in the differential mechanism 4 is controlled with the differential mechanism 4 in compliance with a connecting force for the clutch 7. An oil pressure is fed to the clutch 7 from an oil pressure generating device 9, and a control signal increasing/reducing the oil pressure is outputted from a controller 10. To the controller 10, signals from a rotational speed sensor 11 and a lateral G sensor 12 are inputted. Then, the turning direction of a vehicle is determined, while rotational speeds of driving wheels 6, 6 on the inside and on the outside of the turning direction are compared with each other, and if the driving wheel 6 on the inside is rotated at a higher speed than the driving wheel 6 on the outside, a connecting force for the clutch 7 is decided on the basis of the rotation difference between the driving wheels 6, 6.
