To provide engine oil having excellent deposit performance at high temperature, excellent low-friction characteristics, long service life and low fuel consumption.
A lubricant composition for an internal-combustion engine is obtained by mixing an alkaline earth metal-based cleaning agent of 0.12-0.24 mass% in terms of the metal content, a phosphorus-based additive of 0.005-0.07 mass% in terms of the phosphorus content, which contains zinc dialkyl-dithiophosphate (ZnDTP) at the least, and molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) of 0.03-0.075 mass% in terms of the molybdenum content in mineral oil and/or synthetic base oil. The phosphorus content of the phosphorus-based additive and the molybdenum content of the molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) satisfies expression (1): 0.5P+Mo0.075 (wherein P is the ratio (mass%) of the phosphorus content of the phosphorus-based additive in the lubricant composition; and Mo is the ratio (mass%) of the molybdenum content of the molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) in the lubricant composition).
