Abstract:

To provide a lubricant for an internal combustion engine capable of improving fuel economy and suppressing consumption of oil droplets.SOLUTION: A lubricant composition for an internal combustion engine comprises: (A) a lubricant base oil that has a kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 2.0 mm2/s or more to 6.0 mm2/s or less; (B) a metallic detergent that has a metal amount derived from a metallic detergent of 100 mass.ppm or more to 3,500 mass.ppm or less based on a total amount of the lubricant composition; and (C) a high-molecular polymer as an oil consumption inhibitor that has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 1,500 or more to 350,000 or less, and 0.1 mass% or more to less than 10.0 mass% based on the total amount of the lubricant composition. A difference between a solubility parameter value of the oil consumption inhibitor and the solubility parameter value of the base oil is less than 1.0.SELECTED DRAWING: None
