To provide a lubricant composition which is excellent in fuel consumption saving and low temperature viscosity, and can satisfy both of the fuel consumption saving and the low temperature viscosity at -35C while maintaining high-temperature and high-shear viscosity.
The lubricant composition comprises: a lubricant base oil including a lubricant base oil component of which the urea adduct value is 4 mass% or less, the dynamic viscosity at 40C is 25 mm2/s or less and the viscosity index is 120 or more, by 10 mass% to 100 mass% on the basis of the whole amount of the base oil; and poly(meth)acrylate type viscosity index improving agent which is represented by the general formula (1) [in the formula, R1 presents hydrogen or methyl group, R2 presents a linear or branched hydrocarbon group of 16C or more] and has the proportion of structural unit of 0.5 to 70 mol%, wherein the dynamic viscosity at 100C is 4 to 12 mm2/s and the viscosity index is 140 to 300.
