Abstract:

To provide a novel lubricant composition inhibiting friction or wear and achieving an ideal lubricity at a sliding part engaged in rolling and/or sliding in a machine, especially between the fluid lubrication region and the elastic fluid region.

The lubricant composition is obtained by mixing a particulate thickener substance into lubricating oil and/or grease. The particulate thickener substance has a viscosity increase rate which satisfies a relation (I) [wherein a is absolute viscosity (poise) at 40°C and 10 sec-1before a pressure dispersion treatment of a dispersion obtained by mixing the particulate substance into the lubricating oil; and b is absolute viscosity (poise) at 40°C and 10 sec-1after the pressure dispersion treatment of the dispersion obtained by mixing the particulate substance into the lubricating oil].
