Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant which can reduce metallic frictional noise (abnormal noise) and inhibit abrasion at a constant velocity joint portion, excels in abrasion resistance and can simply be coated deeply on the back part of the constant velocity joint. SOLUTION: A constant velocity joint lubricant is obtained by mixing a lithium soap based grease or a urea grease with 5-40% solid lubricant selected from molybdenum disulfide and polytetrafluoroethylene and 2-20% at least one polymer selected from polybutene, polyisobutylene, and an olefin copolymer to form a base grease having a consistency of 200-350, mixing 40-70% base grease with 60-30% isohexane as the diluent and rendering the resulting mixture sprayable.
