Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deposition of oxides generated by oxidation of a lubricant by devising a substance used as a base oil.SOLUTION: A lubricant supplied to a sliding member contains at least a polar substance as a base oil, and the polar substance suppresses deposition of oxides generated by oxidation of the lubricant. The polar substance is, for example, one or both of alkylnaphthalene and polyalkylene glycol. Consequently, the occurrence of trouble of a sliding member due to deposition of oxides in the lubricant and accumulation of the oxides on the sliding member can be avoided.
