Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a lubricant comprising a specific polyoxyethyleneoxypropylene glycol monomethyl ether, not containing a chlorine atom, having excellent compatibility with freon cooling media, having good lubricity and water absorption resistance, and useful for freezers.
CONSTITUTION: A lubricant not containing a chlorine atom and used for a refrigerating machine employing freon cooling media comprises a polyoxyethyleneoxypropylene glycol monomethyl ether of the formula [AO is an oxypropylene group or a copolymer group of the oxypropylene group with the oxyethylene group (the polymerization system is a block type or random type); m is 1-50; n is 1-10; the content of the oxyethylene group is 5-60wt.%) in which the terminal oxyalkylene group on the hydrogen side is the oxyethylene group.
