Abstract:
To provide a water-based lubricant with excellent lubrication and oil separation using a resin with high water solubility and high thickening property.
The lubricant contains alkyl-modified vinyl alcohol-based polymer, the alkyl-modified vinyl alcohol-based polymer including a monomer unit (a) represented by Formula (I), wherein the viscosity-average degree of polymerization is 200-5,000, the saponification degree is 20-99.99 mol%, and the content of the monomer unit (a) is 0.05-5 mol%. (In the Formula (I), R1 represents a linear or branched 8-29C alkyl group, and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a 1-8C alkyl group).
