Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce frictional loss and fuel consumption in partial load by detecting engine load and revolution a frequency and controlling a predetermined temperature of lubricating oil introduced in a main gallery. CONSTITUTION:When the output of an engine is reduced and the load is lessened, a controller 44 detects the rotational frequency N of the engine and the load from a fuel pump rack position Rc to determine a predetermined lubricating oil temperature Tol higher than preset 80 deg. corresponding to the load. The controller 44 opens partially an electromagnetic valve 36 in a heater path 32 such that lubricating oil temperature To to a main gallery inlet becomes Tol to generate oening indicating signals 45, 46 for partially closing an electromagnetic valve 33 in a cooling path 31. Thus, dynamic viscosity of lubricating oil passing through a main gallery 26 is reduced to reduce frictional loss and fuel consumption.
