PURPOSE: To uniformly penetrate a lubricating agent to guide shoes and to prevent the seizure of the shoes by providing lubricating agent supplying nozzles to the inlet side of the guide shoes and injecting the lubricating agent between the shoes and material toward the rotating direction of the material.

CONSTITUTION: The lubricating agent supplying nozzles 11, 12 are disposed to the inlet side of an upper shoe holder 13 and lower sub-shoe holder 14 for fixing the upper and lower guide shoes of a barrel type rolling mill. The lubricat ing agent is injected between the guide shoes 1, 2 and the material from the nozzles 11, 12 toward the rotating direction of the material. As a result, the lubricating agent penetrates uniformly between the guide shoes 1, 2 and the material from the inlet side to the outlet side as the material rotates and transfers to the down stream side. The seizure of the material is, therefore, prevented and diametral expansion or reduction rolling is smoothly executed.
