Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition that can suppress increase in a polymeric substance produced by oxidation of a lubricating oil, suffers only a small reduction in a total base number, and exhibits high oxidation stability at high temperature.SOLUTION: There is provided a lubricating oil composition obtained by dissolving or dispersing at least the following additive components (A) and (B) into a lubricating oil base oil. The lubricating oil composition contains 0.1 to 1.0 mass% of (A) a monoalkyl salicylic acid calcium salt in terms of calcium content, the (A) having a total base number of 120-250 mgKOH/g, an overbased degree of 1-4, and one 14-18C alkyl group and 0.1 to 2.0 mass% of (B) a monoalkyl salicylic acid calcium salt in terms of calcium content, the (B) having a total base number of 280-400 mgKOH/g, an overbased degree of 6-10, and one 20-28C alkyl group. The lubricating oil composition never contains 0.01 mass% or more of a zinc dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphate in terms of phosphorus content based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.
