Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain novel lubricating oil compsn. which, when used for nonstep variable speed gears of a metal belt type, can realize a high between-metal friction coefficient between a belt and a pulley. SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding a lube base oil with, based on the compsn., (A) 0.005-0.2 mass % (in terms of phosphorus) at least one phosphorous compd. or its deriv. represented by the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each independently a 1-6C alkyl, phenyl, or cresyl; R3 is H, a 1-6C alkyl, phenyl, or cresyl; and X1, X2, and X3 are each independently O or S) and (B) 0.05-10.0 mass % ashless dispersant.
