Title:
LUBRICATING OIL SUPPLY STRUCTURE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE BEARING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2015229923
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply lubricating oil to a bearing supporting camshafts without using an additional component.SOLUTION: A chain guide 45 is provided to guide a portion of a chain 44 spread between two cam sprockets 41 and 43, and a protrusion 47e bent toward a first bearing 36 is provided on a bracket 47 of the chain guide 45. A recessed oil receiver 52 is provided in an upper surface of a bearing cap 35 of the first bearing 36 to collect lubricating oil dropped from the protrusion 47e so as to collect the lubricating oil dispersed by driving the chain 44 by the chain guide 45 and supply the lubricating oil to the first bearing 36, a bottom surface 52a of the oil receiver 52 is inclined to one side, and a recessed portion 53 communicating with an outer ring of a ball bearing 40 is provided in a lowermost portion of the oil receiver 52. Since the lubricating oil adhering to the chain 44 can be supplied to the first bearing 36 by machining the chain guide 44 and a bearing housing, it is possible to supply the lubricating oil to the first bearing 36 with a simple configuration using existing components without the need to provide a lubricating oil supply structure using a dedicated component.
