To obtain a lubricating resin composition excellent in abrasion resistance and sealing property, and not damaging the surface of an aluminum alloy seal by an abrasion even if a lubricating oil is not sufficiently supplied, and especially a small-sized seal ring having ≤20 mm outer diameter and capable of being mounted to a shaft by easily extending the gap provided for opening the ring.
This lubricating resin composition is obtained by blending 50-90 vol.% aromatic polyetherketone resin, 5-30 vol.% aromatic polyamide fiber and 2-30 vol.% tetrafluoroethylene resin. Or, it is obtained by blending 2-20 vol.% talc and 2-30 vol.% whisker having ≤3 Mohs hardness, or 2-30 vol.% inorganic compound particles ≤ Mohs hardness to the above resin composition. The seal ring consisting of a ring made from such lubricating resin composition, forming a gap for opening the ring, having ≥3% bending distortion (ASTM D790) and ≥20 mm outer diameter, is used as the seal ring for making a contact and sliding with an aluminum alloy. Since the plural reinforcing materials act as offsetting weak points each other, the abrasion resistance of the composition is efficiently improved and the sealing ring does not damage the sealing surface of the aluminum alloy.
