In a sliding bearing equipped with a damper tube 12, an outer tube 14 having a surface relatively movable along the surface of the tube 12, and a pair of sliding blocks 31 and 32 fixed to one and another sides of surface of the tube 14 along the relatively movable direction of the tube 14, to slidly contact the surface of the tube 12, high molecular weight polymer 33 is additionally equipped which is positioned between a pair of sliding blocks 31 and 32, and is housed in the gap between the surfaces of the tubes 12 and 14 to retain lubricating oil to be supplied between the sliding blocks 31, 32 and the surface of the tube 12.
