Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the lubrication performance of a sliding portion of a pinion shaft and a pinion of a differential gear.SOLUTION: A pinion shaft 17 is formed with a part supporting a pair of pinions 19 on a circular cross section. When a lubricant drawn by the rotating pinion 19 is pressed in a nonuniform clearance α formed between the inner peripheral surface of the pinion 19 energized in a diametrical direction by engagement reaction force received from a side gear 20 and the outer peripheral surface of the pinion shaft 17, the generation of a boundary lubrication area in which a membrane of a lubricant becomes thin is minimized by raising sufficient hydraulic pressure in a wide region in the clearance α, thereby suppressing heat generation by friction. On the pinion shaft 17, a plurality of oil holes 17c penetrating the inside thereof is formed, so that the cooling performance of the pinion shaft 17 can be ensured by the lubricant flowing in the oil holes 17c.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
