Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten waiting time for start by letting more than two lumbers ready successively with a plurality of units of feeding transfer apparatus at the transfer preparation zone next to the position of starting transfer at the lumber sending pedestal in the state after measuring and positioning provisionally. CONSTITUTION: A lumber A is sent from a storage table 31 to a rolling support of transit 32 and measuring device functions to measure its outer diameter and others. It is then grasped by clamps 23 of a grasp unit 18 that has waited above it and successively transferred to the side of a sending pedestal 3 in the state as lifted upward. Prior to lumbering work, all of the three feeding transfer units, for instance, are let function with respect to the transfer preparation zone Z1 , and three lumbers A are set in the state of waiting for lumbering. In this manner, the grasp unit 18 that the lumber A has been mounted on the pedestal 3 can release grasp of the lumber A just by expanding separation of the clamp 23 slightly, so that the pedestal 3 can start running immediately to the side of a belt sawing machine 2 as a lumbering machine, at that moment.
