To further precisely control light distribution, in a luminaire having a light distribution control member controlling a light distribution mode of light.
A hollow box 4 is arranged in the course of light L emitted from a light source, and its upper surface is formed into a hemispherical recessed part 4a. When a fluid R is injected in the internal space 4b of the hollow box 4, the whole of the hollow box 4 substantially forms a concave lens, and the beam angle of the light L is expanded (Fig.2 (a)). When the fluid R is discharged from the internal space 4b of the hollow box 4, the light L advances by penetrating the hollow box 4 without changing the beam angle (Fig.2 (b)). By setting the refractive index of a material constituting the hollow box 4 nearly equal to that of the fluid R, an optical boundary part is not generated between a wall surface 4c forming the internal space 4c and the fluid R injected in the internal space 4b, the light L emitted from the light source is prevented from being unnecessarily refracted between the fluid R and the wall surface 4c, and the beam angle of the light L is expanded while keeping the beam shape thereof.
