To provide a luminescent film which can be prepared by a coating process using a polynuclear complex compound showing luminescence in a solid state, has sufficient luminescent performance, and can be used in luminous elements.

The luminescent film comprises a polynuclear complex compound showing luminescence in a solid state and a polymer, wherein at least a part of the polynuclear complex compound is present in the film as particles. The polynuclear complex compound is a compound which is phosphorescent and shows the reduction in luminous intensity after being dissolved in an organic solvent. For example, it is a compound represented by the following formula, wherein L represents acetonitrile, triphenylphosphine, and the like.
