To provide an artificial lawn solving a problem of wear resistance in a conventional luminous artificial lawn for allowing long-term use by a player.

This luminous artificial lawn is constructed by tufting a lamination body, in which a luminous layer containing at least one of a luminous material, a fluorescent material and a phosphorescent material is arranged on a base fabric, with pile yarn and applying a backing process. This luminous artificial lawn has good wear resistance and strength approximately equal to that of a conventional one because a layer below the pile emits light. The artificial lawn emits light and develops color even in the night, so that it can reduce night lighting pollution around a residential area socially and can exhibit an effect on safety when it is used as a light for night guide in a park and a footpath.
