To provide a luminous yarn giving a favorable yarn product prevented from declining in commodity value due to uneven pigment adherence through suppressing the debonding and/or cracking of a formulation caused by yarn bending by a guide roll or the like during yarn traveling compared to the case with a single drying operation, and capable of improving the production efficiency of such a yarn product through avoiding the nonsmoothness of yarn's roller traveling due to luminous pigment unevenness as a hindrance during step(s) such as weaving and/or knitting.
The luminous yarn is obtained by sticking a raw yarn with a formulation comprising a paste and a luminous pigment comprising a luminous material and a fluorophor/phosphor emitting visible light by exciting light other than visible light, wherein the luminous pigment emits with a color differing from a developed color inherent in each of the components. The formulation is stuck onto the raw yarn by drying at a specified low temperature followed by further drying at a specified high temperature.
