Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method for easily and inexpensively manufacturing an Fe-B-R permanent magnet, whose magnet surface has a corrosion resisting coating with superior adhesiveness with the magnet for developing stable high magnetic characteristics without deteriorating the magnetic characteristics, even when this magnet is left as it is for a long time at high temperature and high humidity condition of 80°C temperature and relative humidity of 90%, without subjecting the magnet to plating treatment or treatment using hexavalent chromium.
SOLUTION: An Fe-B-R permanent magnet and a metallic piece are placed in a treatment vessel, and vibration is applied to them in the treatment container, and/or they are stirred so that a metallic coating can be formed on the magnetic surface. Then, sol solution obtained through hydrolytic reaction and polymer reaction of a metallic compound being the material of a metallic oxide coating is applied on the metallic coating, and heat treatment is carried out so that the metallic oxide coating can be formed.
